The Foundation sponsored a six person team to travel to South Padre Island, TX to compete in the 2024 National Lifeguard Championships. Laguna Beach was represented by Audrey Denis, Claire Kelly, James A'Hearn, Sean Grieshop, Sage McClung and Niko Ridge. The team made a significant impact finishing 6th overall with 6 competitors, compared to first place Sussex County that fielded 79 people.

2024 CSLA CALIFORNIA SURF LIFESAVING CHAMPIONSHIPS

July 26, 2024. Dockweiler Beach, Los Angeles

Laguna Beach lifeguards competed against lifeguards from throughout the state in a series of events such as running, swimming, paddle board, dory, surf ski, relays, ironman and other surf rescue related races. Laguna's team finished third place overall behind California State and Los Angeles County. Detailed results can be found at:

Laguna was able to send four talented athletes to compete in the USLA National Championships held in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Although they were a small group they performed on par with the heavy weights like L.A. County and Cal State Lifeguards. They even competed on a couple of the relay teams with those agencies. Outstanding job representing Laguna Beach Marine Safety Department at the nation level.
